Frequently Asked Questions
Does health insurance cover hypnotherapy?
Health insurance will not cover hypnotherapy. However many clients are able to use their Health Savings Account.
Will I be unconscious?
No. Although the word hypnosis comes from the Greek word for sleep, hypnosis is not sleep. You are aware of everything that is going on. You will never lose control or do anything you don't want to do.
Will you make me bark like a dog?
No. Hypnotherapy is nothing like stage hypnosis. It is a consent state and you will not do anything you do not want to do. Most of the hypnosis is done while lying comfortably relaxed in a recliner.
How many sessions will it take?
I can not guarantee any number of sessions. However, I can give you a general guideline about what issues are short and what are more long term therapies. Every person and presenting issue is different, but I can promise to do my best to be a co-creator of success with you.
What if I can't be hypnotized?
Hypnosis is a consent state. Everyone can be hypnotized by a competent hypnotist if they want to be.
Is hypnosis against my religion?
I have studied many world religions and have only heard of two religions that discourage being hypnotized. However, the state of hypnosis is a natural state and happens to all of us every day on our way to sleep and upon wakening. It can also happen while driving, watching a movie, reading, meditating, praying, or participating in religious ceremonies. It is my belief that God created our minds to work they way they do for a wise reason. Hypnosis is just one of the divine tools given us to improve ourselves and free us from unconscious scripting.
Can you do phone or Skype sessions?
Generally, Skpye and phone sessions work just as well and are often more comfortable for the client.
